Pole Barn 11: Sheetrock and water

As planned, the sheetrocking began early this
week, and now that it's Saturday, it's almost DONE!
Thanks to our good friend Vlad (who is a very speedy worker.
He's Russian... American.)

Regardless of all the sheetrock, it's still been cold
in there for the kids without a fire going for a while.
Sunshine helps too!

...before we cleaned and organized.

The "office/store"...

By a frog's whiskers, our project made it on the well
company's fall schedule. The ground started freezing
but the hay Randy put down helped them out.
Thankfully, it was also the warmest day of the week.

By the end of the day, we were all hooked
up and had a shiny new pressure tank installed!

The next day, Randy and Vlad spent the morning
putting up sheetrock and finishing some
rough-in plumbing, then we all had a lunch
break and Vlad stayed with Lexi and all 5
kids while Randy and I filled in the hole where
the water line turns into the building. It was
the last chance before the ground REALLY
froze, and we had just enough loose sand/dirt
that had been warmed up in the sunshine that
morning to fill the hole! Thanks, Lord!

Seemingly counter-productive, Randy's
putting a nice hole through the roof.
For plumbing vent.

This morning, our family of 5 worked
on more sheetrocking. We got the bathroom
almost done by lunchtime! Teddy even screwed
some screws. Mostly the kids played with Legos.

As of this evening (Saturday), our electrician
friend has hooked up electricity from the transformer
to the building and even a temporary outlet!
So there's officially usable electricity in the building!!
Hopefully soon we can get the floor's water
heater powered and then when we decide
to spend a day or half a day working, it won't
take a couple hours for the building to warm
up from the wood stove.
