July thru Mid-August: Sand, floor, family fun
July 1
One of the greatest fun things the kids did
this summer was have the hose on the trampoline.
Simple. Great.
July 12
Much of July was spent doing not-so-grandiose
things on the house while waiting for floor and roof
trusses, but we also used the time for good family outings.
Had to pick berries at LEAST once!
I would love a friend of ours to paint
clouds like this on our LR ceiling.
Someday.
July 13
One of the things we did while waiting for trusses
was dig sand from part of our land with Randy's
tractor, dump it inside the garage walls, and
spread it by hand to raise the garage floor
into more of a "split level."
Littles, being resourceful.
July 31
We took the opportunity to make a quick visit to WI
at the end of July, and left the kids with my folks!
Randy and I drove their Corolla back, and my mom
followed with the kids a few days later.
Randy and I got a lot done while kidless!
One thing we did during that time was
receive our floor trusses and begin installing them!
By hand! It wasn't too bad, really.
We carried one at a time, fed it through a window
and kinda stepped each one into place. Then we raised the
support walls, which were a bit of a tripping hazard
while walking an end of a truss across the house.
August 2
After a rainstorm one day...
After a rainstorm one day...
August 5
Oma and the kids are back, and all
floor trusses installed. There happen
to be a lot of building blocks around!
Working on a floor!! Teddy's
screwing experience was handy.
August 6
We went to a community fair on night with friends
in Pequot, and the kids got to do fun things like
control an arm of the power company truck.
August 7
"first meal in the new house" HA! It was
chocolate-cherry blondies, chips, and veggies.
And sometimes we just all get new pajamas.
Mostly with dinosaurs.
August 9
Every time we drove through Nisswa past the
water park there, the kids would as when we could go.
It's expensive, and often the kids are less courageous about
actually enjoying the slides available when we're there
than when we're just driving by, so we limited the
visits to ONE this summer. Teddy was the
only kid who enjoyed sliding this time.
But Andrew liked sitting on the fake horse.
As did the others.
